British Conspiracy
Looking at the past few posts I think it's clear that we have collectively placed a magnifying glass on the British music circuit.
We can't help ourselves. They just keep coming--with music worth paying attention to. The Boyfriends, The Pipettes, The KBC, Lily Allen...you name it, we're on it. Sometimes I wonder if we're not over looking some all important global outlet for great Indie Pop & Rock. About 5 years ago Spanish Indie Pop was all the rage (in my world anyway). To the rest of the populace it was Canada & New York...maybe I need to get back on that.
Either way, it's clear that this year's iPod was dominated by the Brits & the Swedes. Lately, I've been swooning over these British gems. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do:
Assembly Now - It's Magnetic (Luke Smith* Remix)
Long Blondes - Once & Never Again (Demo)
Guillemots - Trains To Brazil
*Luke Smith, was part of the now sadly defunct British outfit Clor.
