Girls Bite Back

It seems to me, that last year there'd been a deficit of girl-fronted bands on the radar. While the Yeah Yeah Yeahs worked on their new album and The Organ's outstanding debut faded into distant memory, the indie music scene had been all caught up with the Bloc Party's, Art Brut's and Wolf Parade's of the world. But in the last 6 months or so, I've noticed a significant resurgence of girl bands. Yey! They've spanned all genre's too. From Folk Rock to Post Punk. So, I predict, this year will be the year of the girl-fronted band. Long Blondes, Pipettes and Love Is All have already made their mark on 2006. Here are a couple others that I've been listening to and you should too:

Kiss Me Deadly - Dance 4
Ladyfuzz - Hold Up
Magneta Lane - Constant Lover

Learn more about Kiss Me Deadly, Ladyfuzz and Magneta Lane at their respective websites.

Enjoy!

Ah but the Delays' vocalist is actually a male. Hard to believe I know. A lovely band & tune nonetheless!
