On Rotation
Earlier this year, we were lucky enough to have NYC Popfest include previews into to the Fall's most anticipated releases. Fall seemed so far away then and yet here we are...

The Secret History. TSH's sound is rich, layered and all grown up. They stood out in the "sea of Twee" that made up most of the festival. Sultry vocals coupled by carefully crafted lyrics & melodies pay homage to everything from Glam Rock to New Wave. The Desolation Town EP on Le Grand Magistery Records proves a stellar achievement by some truly gifted musicians. Hear them in all their glory:
It's Not The End of the The World, Jonah

Love Is All. The new songs sounded fantastic live (even crammed inside that tiny Cake Shop basement). I am happy to finally have the exuberant sophomore release of what is by far one of the best bands to emerge from the Swedish indie scene today. For those who haven't already heard it, here is a sample:
Wishing Well

Lilliput. Finally, I end this blog entry with a track completely unrelated to the NYC Popfest at all. In fact it's not a new Fall release, nor is it unreleased. An oldie, but goodie that's recently come to my attention and in frequent rotation on my itunes:
Die Matrosen
Enjoy!
