Dog Days Roundup
Thanks again to everyone who came out to Mondo's first night at Don Hill's this week.
Here's a bit of what I've been dancing around my apartment to lately:
"Donald In The Bushes With A Bag Of Glue"- Ballboy is a big, stomping, singalong. A must for fans of Belle & Seb's peppier stuff. And check out that bassline!
"Sweet Potato"- Imperial Teen Cute & tart gem with hilarious lyrcs from the band's forthcoming The Hair, The TV, The Baby and The Band.
"Accidents Will Happen" (Broadcast Remix)- The Projects (link removed by request of the band. Check them out here: http://www.myspace.com/letsgetstatic). Mesmerizing and simple with one line that seems to become faintly more profound as the song goes on. Highly recommended.
All for now,
xo

does anyone else lose all interest in bands who actually request their music be removed from blogs like this? shouldn't they be happy they're being listened to and just ask that we buy their material as well? anyway i'm totally put off and i doubt i'll bother looking into them any further. the song's rather soporific anyway except for the fact that broadcast added a nice tender buttons vibe to it in their remix.
The Projects rep was perfectly friendly and reasonable in requesting that the track be taken down. If you're put off you're put off, but you'd be missing out on some great music. I've had "Voice Is Glue" on heavy rotation lately and it nicely echoes Stereolab and Broadcast while pushing in new directions.
okay, i did just go listen to 3 clips on some website and they were very good. i might buy it from amazon now xD
is there an original mix of accidents will happen or just the broadcast and simon break remixes?
Hello, where can I find full tracklisting for these songs? I don't know who the artists are and would love to find out. eg. who covered Gigantic here? Thanks!
Hi Laura if you're talking about the posting Gigantic cover, it's done by a band called "Orange" (see the posting "Your Cover's Blown" above)
