American (Indie)Pop

We've become slaves to the constant influx of wonderful Scandinavian pop that's increased by leaps and bounds in the last few years. It's hard to turn away from a sure bet. Nonetheless there seems to be an increasing amount of American bands seeping into our blog postings as of late! :) I'll contribute two more to properly even the scales:

The Eames Era - Baton Rouge, LA
The tactful use of a tambourine and a lovely jangly tune is what this band is all about. I've highlighted two of my preferred tracks from their Heroes and Sheroes full-length:

Watson by Your Side
Where'd You Go

Mas Rapido! - Seattle, WA
This Pop duet, is a bit hard to make out. Not a classic Indie Pop band by any stretch of the imagination. The "boy tracks" are a bit more reminiscent of the Kinks and even the Beach Boys. But the "girl tracks" remind me of classic 90's girl bands. The latter being what's really of interest to me. Here are two great examples from their debut album Pity Party.

Girl Du Jour
Pity Party

Enjoy!
