The Bird And The Bee

Several weeks ago a co-worker tipped me on to the lovely Los Angeles duo, The Bird And The Bee. They immediately spoke to that part of me that's a sucker for most cosmopolitan indie pop (think Saint Etienne and Early Cardigans).

TB&TB are playing tonight at Joe's Pub. I wished I could have been there but unfortunately I am currently still strapped to my desk at work even as I type out this entry.

Below are a couple of sample tracks (two of my favorite) from their recently released self-titled debut album:

La la la
F-cking Boyfriend

Enjoy!

Tap Tap...What's that?

A while back ago I downloaded a couple of songs by a band called Tap Tap from one of the many blogs I visit (I would give due credit, 'cept I can't remember which one it was exactly). A month or two later a Pitchfork review on their full-length release hailed Tap Tap as "blogger darlings". Well yes it's true. This British outfit is indeed made of the stuff music geeks like myself like to latch on to and spread like wild fire.

The fact is, the musical references heard in Tap Tap's debut album—Lanzafame—are plentiful and pull at the strings of many well-intentioned music hounds. From Television to Arcade Fire...they are all there. Hard not to love. So in the spirit of keeping these "blogger darlings" spreadin', here are two fab tracks to get your addiction started:

On My Way
